Information we may collect
- Your name, contact details, property address, occupancy and bedroom details, and messages you send us.
- Information needed to assess eligibility, arrange the service, manage an account and divide payment responsibilities between occupiers where requested.
- Transaction and billing status from payment and billing providers. Card details entered on a third-party payment page are handled by that provider under its own privacy notice.
- Basic technical and security information, such as IP address, browser details and access logs, generated when you use the site.
Why we use it
We use this information to respond to enquiries, check eligibility, set up and administer contracts, manage payments and occupier responsibilities, meet legal obligations, and keep the site and service secure. Our lawful bases under UK data protection law are, as appropriate, taking steps before or performing a contract, complying with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service. Where consent is legally required, we will ask for it.
Who receives it
Information may be shared with payment processor Stripe when you choose to subscribe, the operator of the linked billing service when you use it, hosting and technical providers, and any energy supplier or service provider needed to assess and deliver the arrangement. We may also disclose information when legally required. Each external service may provide its own privacy notice. We do not sell personal information.
Storage and transfers
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, including accounting, legal and dispute requirements. The period depends on the type of record and applicable law. Some service providers may process data outside the UK; where UK law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction or transfer where the law provides those rights.
